17/00983/FUL. Lever House, Lavant Road, Chichester. Demolition of 1.5 storey house and construction of 2 no 2.5 storey detached houses.
The Executive Committee considers that this proposal is unacceptable. It is felt that the design and its presentation, which has been modified with fair-faced brick elevations and Velux roof windows replacing the 2nd floor dormers, still lacks imagination and character. We would hope that the Council will strive for a proposal that sits well with the attractive character of this neighbourhood.
Therefore we object to this application and ask the Council to refuse permission
17/01073/FUL. 22a Lavant Road, Chichester. Demolition of dwelling and erection of 2 no 4-bed detached houses with shared garage, 3 no 3-bed link detached houses with integral garages, parking and new access drive.
The Executive Committee consider that this proposal is unacceptable because it involves the loss of an attractive detached house in its garden setting important to the prevalent character of this impressive north access drive into the city. Its replacement with 5 houses on small plots represents overdevelopment in the context.
Therefore the Committee object to this application and asks that the Council refuses permission.
16/03616/FUL. Lever House, Lavant Road, Chichester. Demolition of house and construction of two detached 3-storey houses.
The Executive Committee considers that this proposal is out of character with the neighbourhood which is predominantly of 2 storey natural brick houses with clay plain tile roofs set informally in mature landscaped gardens.
Therefore the Committee objects to this application and seek that the Council refuses permission.
