The Executive Committee considers that the proposal is unacceptable, because of the loss of historical fabric in one of the oldest commercial/residential premises in the City Conservation Area. Wrongly described as late 18th century, this property, with its internally visible intact timber framing, is at least 100 years older and it merits enhanced listing above the present Grade 2. Therefore the Committee objects to this application and asks that the Council refuses permission.
